- اقتبس اليونانيون عن الفينيقيين الأبجدية، وعن البابليين قسما من علوم الفلك، وعن المصريين أخذوا الكثير من العلوم والمعارف كالهندسة، ومن المشرق واليونان الحضارات الأخرى في مجالي الفن والفلسفة.
- ومع الفينيقيين الأبجدية المفصلة من حروفية وطورها وأخذها الإغريق واللاتين وأصبحت اللغة الصديقة أصل اللغات التي تفرعت عنها كل لغات العالم.
- كما أخذ الرومان التقويم الشمسي وبناء المعابد في مصر، وأخذوا الكثير من الفن المعماري اليوناني وأدوه في معابدهم.
